difficulty: easy
yields: 1 drinks

One of the joys of enjoying a cocktail upstairs at Bud and Alley’s Restaurant (known as the Tarpon Club) is seeing Mo Mosely’s familiar face. He’s been ringing the sunset bell and pouring drinks for 23 years in one of 30A’s most beloved beachside bars.

Around 2001, his customers began calling his margaritas “Mo-garitas,” and the moniker stuck.

“Everyone thinks it’s special when I make it,” he said. “I don’t know why. Maybe I pour a little strong?”

ingredients

  • 1.25 oz. of Patron
  • 1/2 oz. Grand Mariner
  • 1/2 oz. Rose’s lime juice
  • 2 oz. sour mix (lemon/lime juice)
  • Ice
  • And a little shaky shaky

Optional

  • Coarse salt
  • Lime wedge

directions

1. PREP

If you prefer a margarita with salt, run the lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip it into coarse salt. Add ice to the glass.

2. MIX

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and give it a good shake (or add to a glass and stir).

3. Garnish

Pour over ice, garnish with the lime wedge, and imagine you’re in Seaside staring at the Gulf.

4. ENJOY

Mo Mosley is joined behind the bar by his partner-in-crime, Kim Estes. These two beloved 30A locals have been pouring drinks and serving smiles for over 20 years!
